The Poker Bus

OK, here goes…

Well, I don’t really know where to begin, but, I have to start somewhere. Hopefully this blog won’t just be about how much I won and or lost in a given session, a day, week, month, or whatever. Also, Slim1988 isn’t some alter-ego, or a made up image, so I won’t be crafting any stories involving construction equipment and playing paigow with tilt monkeys. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, that’s just not what I’m gonna do.

I’m going to assume that 99% of the readers on this site are members of NWP. Most probably feel that they know me, some probably even hate me. Oh well. But, I am a completely different person in real life. I don’t actually go around telling people to hang themselves, even though I may believe that they should. I’m pretty reserved around people I don’t know. I just happen to have a fucked up sense of humor, and it’s easy to make fun of people for being stupid. Believe it or not, I don’t actually hate anyone on NWP, well, maybe one or two.

Anyways, I actually do play poker, and recently (the last few months) I have become a winning player (barely). Recently, I began playing 1/2$ limit 6-max. I actually just had my first losing session today (-60$). I probably jinxed myself when I told DBI, today, that I hadn’t had a losing session there yet. And, it took a lot for me to lose, QQ losing to 22, 44 losing to 33, multiple two-outers on the river, a lot of missed draws, mix in some tilt, and it’s a recipe for disaster. Earlier though, I made like 27$, so I wasn’t as upset as I could have been. 4HanLucky and felon sat in for a while, but not for too long, so nothing memorable happened there.

During my ass kicking, the idea that I should move up to 2/4$ popped into my head. If this were just a few weeks ago, I would have, but I am really trying to control those -EV urges, so I did not (pats self on back). Just recently, I was playing 3/6$ very under bankrolled, and lost a good chunk of my roll. Thanks to some 45 person $10+$1 S&G’s, I built myself back up. Those haven’t been going so well lately, so I have slowed down on them. Now I am well bankrolled for 1/2$, and am going to stay there till I build myself up to a couple K. At that point, I am going to attempt being a prop on one of DBI’s sites, and take advantage of a rakeback program. I figure if I can win at 1/2$ on ‘Stars, I can win at 1/2$ on any site. I’ve had a few sessions that ended +100 or so, so hopefully it won’t take too long. I will admit though today’s losing session put some doubts in my mind, so I think I will take the rest of the day off. I will however play an NWP tournament if there is one.

One more thing about the 1/2$ sh limit tables; a lot of the players are soooo bad. Some are so bad to the point that it is actually frustrating. Thanks though to a few pep talks from CheckRaise, I am keeping a cool head. He has given me some good advice, and I am thankful for that. He is a genuinely nice guy. DONK DOWN is going well, and I don’t think it will be too long before cth hits a nice payday. I think that he is in good hands. Wow, that sounded ghey.
