PokerStars Summary

PokerStars has become known as the place where star poker players are born (and most recently bought). They are known for they’re great support and tournament structure and they also excel in having great promotions, fast software, soft games, and a fun community of players.

PokerStars Bonus and Promotions: 9

PokerStars is unlike every other poker room in that they don’t offer special deposit bonuses. They make up with the lack of deposit bonuses with random but frequent reload bonuses. Usually they’re 20% up to $120 with a clearance rate of 5fpp’s per dollar. This works out to 100% RakeBack when playing tournaments or sit&go’s.

PokerStars also has a VIP program that rewards high volume players. As you play more you move up to different tiers. The higher your tier, the more FPP’s you can earn and you can also get cooler items from the FPP store like tournament buy ins, plasma TV’s, or a Porsche. VPP’s are earned that the base FPP rate no matter what tier your at and are used to determine your PokerStars VIP level. Below is a chart of the different VIP levels you can reach.

Pokerstars VIP Program
Tier VPPs Required FPP earn rate Time Period
BronzeStar 0 X —-
SilverStar 1,500 1.5X Monthly
GoldStar 4,000 2.0X Monthly
PlatinumStar 10,000 2.5X Monthly
Supernova 100,000 3.5X Yearly

Donk Rating: 8

Their telivision advertisments during major poker events bring in tons of inexperienced players.

PokerStars Game Selection: 8

Like every poker room, PokerStars has Holdem, stud, and omaha games. They exceed with their tournament selection. PokerStars often has more than 20 multi-table tournaments running at a time with a variety of buy-ins, blind structures and styles. Sit&go’s run non-stop as well with so many different structures that I could devote a whole page to it.

PokerStars Traffic: 10

PokerStars exceeds 75,000 players at peak hours so you don’t have to worry about not being able to find a game in any aspect of poker.

PokerStars Software: 10

The software is quick, simple, easy on the eyes, and very user-friendly. One of the best parts about PokerStars is the ability to have custom avatars. It turns the online poker room into more of a community where you can personalize yourself and even make some friends.

PokerStars Customer Service: 9

PokerStars support is awesome. They speak English, they respond fast, and they know what they’re talking about. If you’re at a final table in a tournament you can email them to assist you in a chop and they’ll be there within minutes. Their only drawback is they are very strict with table chat. You can’t say anything that someone may find offensive without the risk of having your chat banned. PokerStars needs to lighten up with that.
