Where did I leave off?

By Epistate, 28. Dec 05.

Well last I posted, I was planniing on playing the Mirage all week. That Monday I made 700 but the rest of the week was pretty frusterating. The games weren’t as tight passive as the week before. All in all, I wasn’t playing that good and my disapline was waning. But really those weren’t the hands that were really hurting me. It seemed to be my good hands that were getting cracked, and always seemed to happen after trapping somebody for multiple bets.

I remember a lot of the hands, but really don’t feal like revisting them. Just really, really frusterating. I would start out down like 400, work my way back up to even or one hand away from even and then just get snapped off. It really started to wear down on me mentally. Tuesday I lost like 500, Thursday I was at a great table but couldn’t get ahead for the life of me and ended up down like 140.

Friday I went to the Bellagio and got the best run of cards you could imagine in such a short period of time and got snapped off on almost everyone of them and ended up down 700 after fighting my way back some. Saturday I went back and just really didn’t feel like playing too much as my table was horrible. I jumped into a 2/5 NL game. This was the first time I played a no limit cash game in about a year. Well, anybody could of won with the hands I was getting. AJ with Jack high flop, AA vs. QQ, JJ on a AJJ flop. I quit up 650 after dropping a hundred from my peak. It is a mandatory 200 dollar buy in and there really wasn’t enough money on the table for me to stay.

On the way home I stopped at the Orleans and they got a 10/20 with a half kill going. This game was unbelievable. I played for a long time going through pretty big swings and even played 3 and 4 handed for a couple of hours. I could not beat this drunk biker who could hardly see his cards. It was unreal. He would go like 5 bets on the turn with someone with a hand that couldn’t possibly be good, then I would get second best full house to his best full house against him. How could I slow down? I really thought I was playing a great short handed game but this drunk guy couldn’t be stopped (well at least by me anyways. Everyone else was beating him up pretty good.) An example hand: I bet out with a gutshot. He calls with 3 of a kind. I hit my gutterball on the turn, he raises, I reraise, he calls. I bet river, he calls. I show straight, he stares at his cards and the board for like 2 minutes, literally and says Im good, then suddenly finds a rivered full house as he is in the long process of mucking. He also seemed to have top pair a lot when I had an overpair allowing me to get multiple bets on him only for him to river 2 pair on me, repeatdly. I ended up down 200 at the Orleans.

So all in all last week I lost like 400 making it -1000 or so for the last two weeks.

This week has been good so far, so Im pretty pumped about that. Macon was running good on Stars and I told him I needed to jump back on but it would take me a couple of days to get money on there. Well he shipped me 600 so I could go ahead and get started. I did pretty well, and shipped him back his 600, and now I got 1200 in my sccount. Tonight I decided to check out the Bellagio and see if any of the tons Middle Easterners that were in town decided to start playing. Well apparently they just came to party and not play, but the room was still pretty busy at 12:30am with 4 15-30 tables going. I sat in a good game and went up 400 and took off.

So, this week has started off good. Im up a little over $1600 so far. Hopefully I can close out strong before my cruise.
