The Poker Bus

Well I didn’t play all that long today, but luckily things went well. I woke up pretty early again and played a total of one round and bounced out up 199 dollars. I watched some TV and went out to eat and bought a couple of movies. I bought Bully (from the director of KIDS), The Deer Hunter Special Edition, and Bottle Rocket.

I came home and watched Bully. Damn that movie has a lot of poon in it. After that I was a litte tired but decided to press on and went to the Bellagio. There was 4 games going and a list. I was pretty surprised by this, as that is a lot of games for a Tuesday. I waited a few minutes and a fifth game got started up. We drew for position and I was dealt in in the cutoff. The lineup was as follows: 1 seat was a young guy, 2 seat was lady that never wins, 3 seat was a local sporting a Sahara Jean Jacket, 4 seat was a 40ish yr old donk in sunglasses and a poker hat, 6 seat was me, 7 seat was Jim (tight old man), and 10 seat another local gentleman I play with a lot.

Within the first few hands I get 1010 and raise after one limper. I think there were 3 of us total to the flop. The flop came out 542 with 2 hearts. I bet and get checkraised by the lady that never wins and it is folded back to me. I usually 3 bet here almost always but decided to just call. I had position and now knew exactly what she had. I was going to raise any turn other than an Ace, 3, or 5, but she checked to me on the turn of a Jack. I was kind of disappointed in this as I thought for sure she would bet. Anyways I bet the Jack and she calls. The river was a King and she check called me and mucked.

The next hand I play I was in the BB and it was raised and reraised to me. I look down and see KK and 4 bet. The flop is Ace high with 2 hearts. I bet and get a call. The turn is another Ace. I bet and get called. The river is not a heart nor a King and I check called and was shown A10 by the Jean Jacket guy. I don’t like the way I played this hand but didn’t want to give him a free heart if that he needed. Also I didnt want to get bluffed off a decent sized pot for 1 bet at the end. Sometimes I think I need to figure out a better plan for these types of situations but other times I think that I get payed off more than other tight players b/c I bet such a wide variety of hands on the flop and turn. The first hand I played would be a good example of this.

The next hand I played (besides stealing the blinds once) I was in the BB again. The button open raised and I 3 bet QJ after the SB folded. The flop was Q2Q. I bet out and got raised. I called and then check raised the turn. The button called both the check raise and my bet on the river and then mucked.

The last hand I plaed also came from the blind. I cant remember my kicker off hand but I called a raise with a J. The flop was QJX and I check called. The turn was another Jack and I check raised and original raiser folded. I started to get really tired from not taking a nap so I left up $303.
