The Rich get Richer on PokerStars

By dbirider, 27. Mar 06.

I logged onto pokerstars last night to watch the end of the $1,000 tournament. The prize pool was absolutely crazy. The top three players all received over $100,000, with first place getting $295,000. Two years ago a $20,000 win would be huge, but today it’s only like an average score.

When I opened up poker stars there were about 27 left and about half of them about half of them really well known online > emptyseat88, Genius28, Donald, PearlJammer, FoxyPlayer, ActionJeff, MrteddyKGB, neverwin, who is next, Hoss_TBF and FossilMan. Almost all of these players have won over $100,000 on pokerstars tournaments before this one.

The most LAG person in the tournament was definitely raymer. He was raising, reraising, and calling with what seemed like any two cards. I’d be afraid to raise anything but premium hands against him knowing there’s a good chance he’ll call anything. I can’t say that he was playing perfect though. I don’t know what to make of this hand.

He was collecting a bunch of chips inbetween hands, but I saw a few hand where if he didn’t win a coinflip or hit a certain card he woulda been out. It was cool that Raymer ended up coming in second and I kind of wanted to see him win it. The hand he got nocked out on was definite WTF? hand:

  2. Yeah and it’s fun to watch also. FossilMan must be doing something better then everyone else, with all the huge wins he’s had. Even before his WSOP win he placed Second in a $200 weekly tournament.
