Double FPP’s at Poker Stars!

Poker Stars is dealing its 5 billionth hand soon, and to celebrate they’re giving away a bunch of prizes. They’re going to have 33 milestone hands leading up to the big hand where $2,000 cash prizes will be given to everyone dealt in the hand at the table, and $5,000 to the winner. Then on the 5 billionth hand Poker Stars is giving away a WSOP to everyone dealt in the hand and $50,000 to the winner.

From May 12th to May 21st Poker Stars is doubling the rate you gain frequent player points and VIP points. This is great timing for me since I’ve pretty much just been playing there to get enough FPP’s for the iPod nano. I have 13,245 right now and a nano is 16,000 in the Poker Stars store. I’ll easily have enough by the 21st by playing twelve $27 turbo single table tournaments per day.

I played twelve more turbo STT’s yesterday and did pretty good. I’m still doing the six tables at once twice thing. After that my brain is just to fried and I can’t focus on poker.

The first set of 6 games didn’t turn out so good. I went the first 10-15 minutes without winning a hand at any of the six tables. I had a few good pocket pairs early on, but there was always that Ace or King on the river followed by the other player making a huge raise. I ended up coming in 4th-6th on five of the tables and getting 1st on the last one. The 1st place really saved me, and I ended up losing $49.5 on that round.

An hour later I started up my second set of six tournaments. I did a lot better in this one, and was fortunate to have my good hands hold up. I ended up getting a 3rd, two 2nd’s and a 1st making that round a $130.5 win after taking out entry fee’s and rake. So yesterday I finished up $81 for the two 45 minute sessions which is really good.

I don’t think I’m going to play today. The double Poker Stars FPP promotion starts tomorrow, so I might as well wait till I can get the most back for my rake.
