Online Poker
Running Hot - ready for the battle of the bloggers tourney
Actually I’m running standard, if not a bit cold, in terms of wins, but the poker gods decided to entertain me today with some big hands. Within a 20 minute time frame I won a $290 pot with quads (vs the top full house) and then a $167 pot with a royal flush.
Oh, and [...]
Why online poker is incredibly fun!
I admit my last post was somewhat depressing. The polotics might be getting to me because I don’t always feel that way about poker. Even without gambling and playing out of your range it can be a really fun and challenging game.
The first thing that first drew me to this game was the challenge. I [...]
Why online poker is incredibly boring!
Other then the occasional tournament with fellow bloggers, I’m officially burnt out from playing poker. I’ve come to realize that it’s just a dull game. The only thing that makes it exciting is the gamble when money’s involved. And when you get used to the stakes you’re playing it gets boring boring again. This is [...]
What Really Happened to Stacks Poker
Everyone remembers stacks poker, right? They were a new poker room that created a lot of buzz with their 3d poker software and the generous promotions they promised to big players. Unfortunately they kept pushing their release dates back and were never able to make it past beta stage.
While this was happening, nobody really knew [...]
Phil Ivey vs. sbrugby - ?
I was watching 200/400nl heads up match at Full Tilt Poker between Phil Ivey and Sbrugby. I wasn’t closely watching the game, but it seemed pretty normal until this hand…

I fought the power
I fought the power in todays DADI tournament (a tournament for poker bloggers who love the hammer), but the power was to strong for me. I was able to ride my short stack all the way into 9th place, which was exciting, but only the top 5 get paid.
Here’s the hand I went out [...]
Retarded “no blind increases” heads-up sng
While playing heads up sit and go’s I accidentally joined one of pokerstars new ‘no blind increases’ versions. What a mistake that was. They basically give you 1500 chips each, set the blinds at 15/30 and force you to play until someone loses their stack.
I think this is pokerstars response to everyone asking for heads [...]
Getting Back into Poker
For the past few months i’ve barely played any poker, but i’m just starting to feel like I am getting back into it again. I’ve always had the most success from heads up Sit and go’s, so that’s what i’ll be playing.
My plan is to start at the $50 level, and hopefully after I [...]
Turbo heads up sit and go tournaments
Pokerstars just added heads up sit and go tournaments with 5-minute blinds. I’ve actually been pulling for them to create these tables. Now that they’ve made these turbo heads up sit and gos, I’m having second thoughts.
My first thought was that these would be great. Better players will win money faster while the losing players [...]
Bush signs the port security / online gambling bill
And i’m not scared or surprised. We all knew it was coming after the law passed in the senate. I’m sure PokerStars and FullTiltPoker saw this coming as well, and they have already announced that they’re sticking around. Neteller doesn’t show any signs of quitting on us either.
I’m going to continue transfering money in an [...]
